Clean Eats Review: True Food Kitchen

by jenny in Body Food

A review from Clean Team Member Kaya on her favorite LA restaurant. If you’re a SoCal local, check it out and if you’re planning a visit, be sure to put it on your list!

Hey everyone, Kaya here from the Clean Team, and I want to tell you about my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles: True Food Kitchen. There are so many healthy food options in L.A., but True Food offers so much more than nutritionally dense food. It provides a comfortable and trendy atmosphere for most any occasion, i.e. birthdays, or any other day of the week.

The bright, open, upscale cafeteria-feel is very pleasant and the staff are efficient and friendly. The menu is very accommodating to vegetarians, vegans, meat eaters, and raw foodist. The most enjoyable item on the menu, in my opinion, are the melt-in-your-mouth edamame dumplings. The drink menu alone is pretty fantastic. If you’re juicing, cleansing, or just jonesing for some greens, I recommend their green juice or any of their fresh juices. If your night calls for some celebrating, all of their cocktails are fresh and tasty, my favorite being the Cucumber-Citrus Skinny Margarita. For entree options, they have a handful of farm fresh salads, a  mouth watering sea bass dish, and a spaghetti squash casserole that tastes like baked ziti, and there isn’t even any pasta in the dish. These are just a few of my favorite items, but I haven’t seen any menu choices disappoint my guests yet.

Overall, I’ve realized that True Food Kitchen is a great place for health conscious people to host friends and family who are weary of the nutrition scene. The environment, the affordable prices, and the fresh food are all simply wonderful.
