Get Your Green On

We all know how important greens are to our health, for vitamins and minerals and overall nutrition, but did you know that you can incorporate them into your day to day routine even if two of those meals are liquids?  Hello, green shakes.

They’re like a burst of energy that you can feel in every cell, making you feel nourished, satiated and ALIVE.  Here’s a few yummy recipes to get your daily dose of green love:

BECKY’S MORNING SHAKE

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces of water
  • 3-4 ounces of nut or hemp seed or rice milk (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 of an avocado
  • 1 giant handful of the dark leafy green of your choice (kale, spinach, swiss chard)
  • 2 teaspoons organic almond butter
  • a pinch of sea salt
  • 1 scoop Nourish
  • 1 scoop Move
  • OR your own protein powder (make sure it’s gluten, soy, sugar and dairy free) and fiber addition (flax meal or chia seeds)
  • optional: sweetener to taste (stevia, coconut nectar, brown rice syrup)
  • optional: 1 tablespoon carob or raw cacao powder

 
Directions:
Blend until smooth and creamy.  This recipe makes a lot, so it can be one serving, or you can save some and have the rest as a snack later- depending on your individual hunger that day!

CHOCOLATE MINT SHAKE

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 tablespoons hemp seeds (or 1/4 cup nut of your choice- almond, pecan, walnut, cashew, etc.)
  • 1 cup almond or coconut milk
  • 1/4 c fresh mint leaves (you can use organic mint extract if you can’t find fresh mint leaves)
  • 2 tablespoons mint flavored chlorophyll (found in the supplement section of any health food store)
  • 1 giant handful of the dark leafy green of your choice (kale, spinach, swiss chard)
  • 1/2 tablespoon raw cocoa OR carob powder
  • 1/2 c water (add slowly until it’s the desired consistency, you may not need it all)
  • (If using Clean Kit: add 1 scoop Nourish (vanilla or chocolate) and 1 scoop Move)

 
Directions:
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding additional water only as necessary and to yield desired consistency. Enjoy!

DHRUMIL’S FAVORITE GREEN SHAKE

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups spinach
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries (or raspberries, blackberries, mangoes, papaya, etc.)
  • 1 tablespoon flax oil
  • 1 tablespoon maca powder (optional but so energizing and delicious, we definitely recommend it!)
  • 1 tablespoon spirulina AND/OR 1 scoop Clean Greens
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • a few drops of stevia to taste (for desired sweetness, although you may not need it with the berries)

 
Directions:
Blend until creamy.

SWEET & SIMPLE GREEN

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces non-dairy milk (almond, coconut, rice)
  • 2 giant handfuls of spinach
  • 1 mango, peeled and diced (If using Clean Kit add: 1 scoop Nourish (any flavor) and 1 scoop Move)

 
Directions:
Blend all ingredients until smooth and enjoy this amazing and detoxifying meal.
