The Benefits of Blackberries in Our Italian Soda Recipe
A blackberry is ripe and ready when they are plump, dry, darkly-colored and are neither too firm nor too squishy. Blackberries are very nutrient dense fruit and contain an abundance of antioxidants. They are also essential in helping improve digestive health. Blackberries contain both soluble and insoluble fiber, which assists with the absorption of water in your intestines, resulting in more frequent movements.
Cocktail Thyme: How This Herb Freshens up This Italian Soda
Thyme may not be the first ingredient we think of when you think of a summer cocktail, but this stuff is packed with Vitamin C and Vitamin A, to help ward off coughs and colds, along with many other benefits, making it an awesome immune boosting herb.
Prep time: 5 minutes
1 cup fresh blackberries
2 tablespoons lemon juice, plus a few lemon slices
3-4 sprigs of thyme
4-5 ice cubes
8 ounces club soda
a few drops of stevia or 1 teaspoon of coconut palm sugar
Place the blackberries, thyme, sweetener, lemon juice, and ice in a jar.
Muddle to break up the blackberries and merge the flavors. Place a lid over the container then shake well.
Strain into two glasses then top with club soda and add a lemon slice.
