End Of Summer Stone Fruit Smoothie You Need To Make

Hero_Hibiscus_blog

August is peak season for fresh peaches, nectarines, plums, apricots, and cherries. These summer delights are commonly referred to as stone fruits because of the large, hard seeds. We added even more vibrant color to this stone fruit smoothie by using a base of hibiscus flower tea. We like to pair with our Vanilla Daily Shake for a delicious start to the day.

The tart hibiscus tea nicely counterbalances the sweetness of the fruits and supports healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Mint adds a refreshing note, and helps with digestion and reduces inflammation in the body. Sip on this as you savor the end of summer.

Serves: 2

Prep time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

16 ounces water

2 tablespoons dried hibiscus flowers

1 peppermint tea bag or 2 sprigs fresh mint

2 scoops Vanilla Daily Shake (or Vanilla Cleanse Shake)

2 cups of chopped stone fruit (peach, nectarine, cherries, apricots, plum)

2 pitted dates

2 tablespoons coconut oil

Directions:

Bring the water to a boil then pour over the tea bag and herbs and let steep, covered, for 10 minutes. This step can be done in the evening and left in the fridge to cool overnight.
