The 21-day Clean Program is designed to support the body’s natural ability to heal itself. It focuses on cleansing and detoxification through a mixture of dietary change and supplementation. We really recommend that everyone gives it a try at some point. The results are incredible.
We aren’t going to sugar-coat it though, it’s a commitment. A commitment to yourself, your health, and your growth. While the program was created to be easily incorporated into a busy schedule, and many of our cleansers successfully finish despite their wild schedules, it does require conscious awareness and love.
We get it. Sometimes that kind of commitment is simply not an option. There is no reason to add any more stress to an already overwhelming schedule. We also don’t recommend doing the Clean Program if you are pregnant, nursing, or very ill. However, we believe there is always something that you can do to support your health.
Here is exactly how to do a gentle cleanse without taking on our full 21-day program.
Shakes are one of the easiest ways to support the body’s natural ability to cleanse and detoxify. They’re also easy-to-make, taste great, are loaded with nutrition, and set the tone for our whole day. The Clean Daily Shake is a clean protein powder that’s both non-GMO and vegan. It has a unique blend of vitamins, minerals, high-quality protein, and fiber to help fill nutritional gaps and encourage clean eating. It’s also delicious.
Having a daily shake is a simple way to get water, easily digestible nutrients, and fiber into our bodies all at once. The cell structure of the ingredients in a blended shake is broken down by the liquefying process, so the nutrients are more readily available to be digested. Because they are blended they also give our digestive system a much-needed rest, a major component of the Clean Program. Whip yours up every morning, and you’ll feel the difference.
Follow the Clean Program Elimination Diet for 21-days. The elimination diet is one of the most important aspects of the Clean Program. By following this diet, we are already seriously supporting our systems, decreasing inflammation, and allowing our bodies natural healing capabilities to kick in. This specific diet is intended to remove any foods that are causing a buildup of mucus, fat, and inflammation in our system.
Add in Cleansing Herbs and Foods
Many herbs can be an easy way to gently cleanse your body without making too many changes to your routine. Turmeric, ginger, garlic, triphala, and green tea can be great to add. Foods can be cleansing too, we like to add dandelion, cilantro, artichokes, beets, lemon, cabbage, arugula and seaweed to our meals to increase their cleansing power.
Increase your water intake to assist with detoxification. Water is essential for flushing the liver and kidneys, our primary detox organs. Drinking enough water helps keep the food we eat moving through our intestines and ultimately allows food waste to exit the body. If our bodies don’t have enough water, then stool becomes more difficult to pass. The elimination of waste from cells and the colon is dependent upon the presence of water to move toxins out and to help keep stools soft. So without proper hydration, the body is more susceptible to allergens and infections as it is unable to remove toxins. We’re trying to get rid of these here, so up that water intake! Aim for at least 8-12 cups per day.
Extra Detox Benefits
If you can, schedule in some extra detoxifying self-care. If you’re pregnant, nursing, or ill, make sure to check with your doctor first. These are some of our favorite ways to reap even more cleansing benefits:
Know that you can always join in on the feel-good fun. Don’t let your circumstances prevent you from taking good care of yourself. You’re worth it.
