Summer’s best peaches and cream smoothie

This peaches and cream smoothie will change your opinion if you think of protein shakes as a chalky, flavorless breakfast! It tastes more like dessert than breakfast with sweet, juicy peaches, creamy coconut, and the complement of spicy cinnamon. We love keeping frozen cauliflower rice on hand to add a dose of nutrients and fiber to smoothies, and with the help of our Daily Shake, this meal will satiate you for hours.

Stone fruit keeps you cute

Peaches are considered a drupe or stone fruit and are in a family with apricots, plums, and cherries. They are packed with fiber, vitamin C, potassium, and vitamin A. Like many fruits and vegetables; peaches are an excellent source of antioxidants that help fight free radicals in the body. Peaches have been studied for their heart-health benefits, specifically lowering cholesterol and improving blood pressure numbers. Studies have also shown that compounds found in peaches may help the skin retain moisture, improving skin texture, tone, and appearance. It has also been shown to potentially prevent UV damage and slow the growth of skin tumors.

We love using cauliflower for bulking up soups, stir-fries, and smoothies. It adds fiber, potassium, calcium, folate, and vitamin C. It doesn’t add much flavor, so your smoothie will taste like peaches, not vegetables! Thanks to its choline content, cauliflower can help improve mood and memory. It is also a crucial mineral for brain development and nervous system health.

Fat is essential

Coconut yogurt and coconut cream add essential fats to this smoothie. Fat helps satiate (letting our body know we are full and satisfied), helps keep blood sugar stable, and helps our body absorb specific vitamins and minerals. The fats found in coconut help the body burn fat, raise HDL (good) cholesterol and are more easily accessible as energy than other types of fat. The reason is that while the majority of dietary fats are categorized as long-chain triglycerides, a portion of the fat found in coconut contains medium-chain triglycerides. This type of fat goes straight to your liver, where it can be turned into ketones for quick energy.
